When painting the stainless steel mixing tank, the construction personnel can choose to use it according to the properties of the paint, the instruction manual of the paint and the site conditions. For large-area coating, the spraying method is recommended. In the coating construction should pay attention to the following aspects.
1. Stirring: During the coating process, some types of coatings will appear sedimentation and stratification. For example, water-based zinc-rich coatings are mixed with base liquid and zinc powder on-site. Due to the high density of zinc powder, it is easy to cause inconsistencies in mixing. The phenomenon of uniformity and sedimentation stratification. The construction personnel should pay attention to observation and stir in time to ensure the quality of painting.
2. The shelf life of the coating: The two-component coating has a corresponding shelf life. At present, solvent-free epoxy coatings are commonly used as anti-corrosion primers in stainless steel mixing tanks. The coatings have high viscosity and short pot life. They should be used as little as possible and can be used as needed. If the paint thickens during the pot life, it can be diluted by adding a small amount of thinner, generally no more than 5 percent of the paint mass, and stir and mix with an electric mixer before use. If it has agglomerated and crusted, it should be discarded.
3. Coating interval time: Different coatings and their coating systems have their own appropriate coating intervals. Only by layering construction in strict accordance with the requirements can the quality of the project be guaranteed. Defects such as wrinkles, flow, and poor adhesion between layers. The next coat of paint should be applied after the surface of the previous paint is dry and before curing, and the coating interval should not exceed 24 hours. If the previous paint is more than 7d and has been cured, it should be roughed before applying the next paint.
4. Welding affected area and welding seam: Since the steel plate is first coated with primer and then welded and installed, an uncoated welding affected area should be reserved around the steel plate, otherwise it will have an adverse effect on the welding quality. In order to reserve a suitable welding affected area, the experience is to stick a tape (cardboard strip or wooden strip, etc.) with a width of 100-150mm around the edge of the steel plate before painting, and remove the tape after coating. In addition, after the construction of the stainless steel mixing tank is completed, the welds related to the tightness test shall not be painted before the water filling test.
